Game Rules

§1 Accounts

I. Account Sharing
Account sharing is not allowed, each account must be played by one person only.

II. Multi Accounts
Every player is entitled for a single account at a time per MageFight Server. Multiple accounts of the same individual will be blocked. Accounts for the sole purpose of increasing victim count and booty/gold also fall under this regulation. If several users are accessing the game using the same network IP (e.g. school, company, group house etc), the respective players are required to report such actions in the relevant server related subforum of the Reports Section.

Special care should be taken to ensure no more common account settings are being used, when the IP already is identical to multiple accounts. An identical IP alone is not a common reason to be blocked. Attacking the same targets together with a player on same IP can result in a ban as well as an attack on a player having the same IP as the attacker.

III. Account Exchange
Any given account is related to the person to which the fixed eMail-adress belongs to. If users exchange accounts without the assistance of a game operator, no complaints or requests will be processed unless these originate from the fixed mail addresses with in the given accounts. Also there will be no backups or account rescues when the account exchange takes place without a game operator.
Game operators can not only exchange two accounts easily, they can ensure security (from fraud).

§2 Bug Using

Exploiting errors, misbehaviors or bugs in the programming of MageFight and usage of such to one's own advantage - so called bug-using - is not allowed. Every player is required to report found bugs immediately. Exploiting bugs to gain advantage in the game-play may be blocked from 1 day to indefinite time depending on the severity of the exploitation of a bug. The same applies to a player refusing to report a found bug.

§3 Interference With Game Technology

Installations and methods that cause excessive internet traffic to the server or can be used to impair normal gameplay should be omitted. In particular, automatic or semi-automatic scripts capable of interacting with the game database or issuing game commands, are prohibited and usage or installation of such result in an immediate and permanent ban form the entire game.

§4 Extortion

Extortions and threats that relate to a players "real life" (physical, as compared to "virtual life" on the net) can cause limited or unlimited blockage of the respective account the threats or extortions were sent. Such blockage would also cover access to the MageFight Forum.

§5 Ban Removal

Actions done by a game operator responsible for a given MageFight Server can only be reversed by another game operator if the GameAdmin agrees. Any attempt to circumvent these rules by not contacting the Game Operator responsible for the ban will be dealt with accordingly:
  • Any successful attempts to remove a ban by duping a second member of staff will result in the ban being reinstated at its full initial length.

  • Any unsuccessful attempts to remove a ban by duping a second member of staff will result in 1 day addition to the ban.

§6 Exclusion From The Game

Any breach of these rules may lead to blocking the account or exclusion from the game. Depending on the severity of the offending action the punishment can be extended to all MageFight servers and possibly further service provided by MageFight such as the official MageFight forum or the related IRC channels. Members of the MageFight team agree to fully present the offending action according to the best of their knowledge and their beliefs.

§7 General Operating Conditions

The language of the game is English. All user printed text must be English, this extends to ingame messages and external guild pages.

Any violations of the rules will be dealt with an ingame ban. The lengths of these bans are listed below.
